Oct 12, 2009 - It is time to go home, Wuhan memories will be always be in my heart..

The long awaited day has finally arrived. It is finally time for us to go back to Singapore. Everybody has a mixed feeling about this. Some of us were sad and some of us were happy. At midnight, we were celebrating CK’s birthday. After the birthday celebration, we went back to our bunk and hang around until the time we were supposed to pack out and leave our bunk. We clean our room and move our luggage out of our bunk. It is really sad for me to leave the bunk where we have called home for 42 days in Wuhan. We boarded our bus to the airport. The trip was around two hours. After the bus ride, we finally reached the airport and check in our luggage. We decided to eat our meal at KFC and finally it is time to board on the plane. As I was not feeling well, I sleep during the whole plane ride.

Time to go home, MDE!

After we landed at Guang Zhou, we were going to wait for 2 hours transit time. We decided to relax in one place while playing cards and chit chat. As time flies past when we were having fun, it is time for us to go to the designated gate which is A16. We walk to the gate and take some group photos before boarding the plane. Finally, it is time for us to board the plane and went back to Singapore. The plane trip took about 4 hours and we reach Singapore around 10.30 pm. The landing was smooth and it was time for us to alight from the plane. We finally reached Singapore! Time to pass the immigration and bought some stuff at duty free shop. After that, we took our luggage and took some group photos. It is really time for us to go to individual homes. Goodbye Wuhan! The 6 weeks learning experiences has been very meaningful for me. Those memories will always be in my heart..

Reflection: This 6 week learning experience has finally come to the end. This trip has taught me countless things such as Chinese culture and traditions. This trip makes me more open-minded and able to understand other people much better now. In addition to that, this trip also helps to achieve something extremely important which is new comrades who I can rely on. The 21 guns of MDE, you guys have done well to make this trip fun and lively. If I got a second chance to go another immersion programme, I would not mind giving it a go. In conclusion, this trip makes me reflect on a lot thing in my daily life. I was able to see people’s hardship and become more independent. One thing for sure that I know, even thought the Wuhan’s time is finally over; we still need to keep moving on!
